2010 BATATHON INFORMATION
The cost of running the North Oakland and South Oakland Little Leagues greatly exceeds the revenues provided by the application fees. NOLL/SOLL has chosen to keep our registration fees low so that every Oakland, Berkeley, and Piedmont child within our league boundaries can enjoy the experience of Little League baseball. The Bat-a-thon is our way of raising the additional revenue required to field our teams, and pays for uniforms, fields, umpire expenses, and scholarships to families in need. It is also our way of asking our players to shoulder some of the responsibility for the wonderful baseball experience we strive to provide.
Each player at every level is expected to raise at least $150 for the Bat-a-Thon. With a modest amount of effort, every player can reach this goal. The Bat-a-Thon works much like a walk-a-thon: players ask for pledges based on how far they can hit the ball during the Bat-a-thon event. Our donors can pledge by the distance batted, or simply with a flat donation to the League.
For those players who put effort into the Bat-a-Thon, the prizes are great!
