2011 DIVISION 2 ALLSTARS
Dateline 7/25 The Oakland Seniors split their first two games at Divisionals, throwing them into the elimination bracket against a very strong Mission San Jose team. A long run in this tournament was not in the cards, as MSJ banged out 13 runs to end Oakland's run. But what a run it was, winning two banners along the way! Thanks to all the Seniors coaches, parents and players for representing NOLL and SOLL with class and pride!

Seniors Division 2 (the Northern California 'state' tournament) was hosted by Sunrise LL of District 8 in Stockton, CA. There are 6 teams participating; the final 6 Seniors teams in Northern California. Complete bracket here

2011 SECTION 1 ALLSTARS
Dateline 7/20 After losing the first game of the Section 1 tournament, Oakland has run the bracket, tonight beating D35 Mark West in an extra inning affair! Oakland and Mark West swapped leads all game, with Oakland tying it in the bottom of the 7th and rallying in the bottom of the 8th to win the Section 1 banner. Oakland is now headed to the Division 2 tournament in Stockton starting Sat 7/23! There are now just 6 Seniors teams alive in Northern California, and our boys are one of them!

Dateline 7/16 Oakland's teams went 0 for 3 in Sectional openers tonight, with 9-10s, Juniors and Seniors all losing. The Seniors had the most 'normal' looking game, while 9-10s lost a firefight (17-15), Juniors lost a pitchers' duel (2-1).

Dateline 7/17 And then there was one... Oakland's Seniors team is the lone AllStar team playing now. The SOLL Juniors squad was eliminated in another great, tense, well played struggle, this time with Davis American. The NOLL 9-10s succumbed to a heavy hitting Vacaville Central team. Both Juniors and 9-10s, tho, ended their run with class and composure, like the Champions they are.

Dateline 7/18 Seniors picked up a Sectional win, avenging their earlier loss with a victory over D53-Benicia. Seniors is now in the Section 1 championship round, and will need to win Tue to force a winner takes all game on Wed!

Dateline 7/19 Seniors won game 1 of the Championship round vs D35 Mark West, forcing a true Championship Game tomorrow night for the right to go to the Division tournament!

Congrats to all 11 of our Minors, Majors, Juniors and Seniors AllStar teams for playing their hardest and representing NOLL/SOLL with skill, poise and class during wins and losses. The final combined Oakland AllStar record was 26-17, including 4 NOLL vs SOLL battles. NOLL and SOLL teams brought home 3 of 5 District banners, plus one runner up finish.

Dateline 6/27 AllStars got off to a bang tonight, with the SOLL#1 9-10s going 7 innings and 4 pitchers deep before dispatching PinoleHercules in a *marvelous* battle at Chabot. This sets up the first NOLL vs SOLL tilt this AllStar season!

Dateline 6/28 District 4 has rained out all AllStar games for Tue night; schedule will be adjusted back 1 day.

Dateline 6/29 The first NOLL vs SOLL tilt went the way of the North side tonight, with the NOLL 9-10 A team beating their SOLL counterparts at Chabot. Both 9-10 B teams at the 9-10 level lost to Alameda, but fought good tight games until the final inning, and both should do great tomorrow night in their first elimination games! The 11s opened with losses, setting up another NOLL vs SOLL matchup, this time in Albany and with elimination on the line!

Dateline 6/30 The 11s kicked off the elimination bracket with an intrasectional barnburner won by SOLL 10-8. The SOLL 9-10 A team bowed out, but both B teams won their first elimination games! The NOLL B road takes them back to Chabot tomorrow; the SOLL B team travels to Walnut Creek next.

Dateline 7/1 Tonight was all about the 9-10 teams. Both B teams were eliminated; each posted identical 1-2 records and the kids and rookie coaches had a lot of fun and represented Oakland with a lot of hard work and silly grins. Meanwhile, the NOLL 9-10 A team advanced to the winners' bracket semifinals, dropping Alameda1 6-5.

Dateline 7/2 Sat morning saw another NOLL vs SOLL matchup (third of the season), as the Majors teams faced off at Chabot. NOLL advanced, sending a good SOLL squad to the elimination bracket. NOLL Juniors dropped a close one at Caldecott, and the SOLL 11s were eliminated by Concord American.

Dateline 7/5 After a long delay, the SOLL Juniors finally took the field and beat Walnut Creek, who now must face the NOLL squad in an elimination game. No other action tonight!

Dateline 7/6 3 NOLL teams in action tonight; 3 wins! NOLL Juniors win their first game in the elimination bracket and live another day. NOLL 12s move into the upper bracket semifinal by beating East County on their home turf. And last (chronologically at least), the NOLL 9-10s advance to the upper bracket finals with a hard fought 2-1 win over Albany1.

Dateline 7/7 4 Oakland teams in action tonight, 4 wins! The NOLL 9-10s advance to the championship round with a come from behind 7-3 win. SOLL Majors notch their first win and advance to face a hot Antioch squad. NOLL Juniors win another elimination game, beating Clayton Valley. SOLL Juniors advance to the upper bracket final by beating Martinez in a 7-4 barnburner.

Dateline 7/8 SOLL Majors win, NOLL Majors lose and so they will for the second time on Sat, this time in an elimination semifinal. NOLL Juniors continue their run with a victory over Concord American. Last, Oakland Seniors opens their best of 3 finals with a road win and will have a chance to close it out Sat at Carter!

Dateline 7/9 NOLL vs SOLL has a been a theme so far this AllStar season, with 4 such matchups so far and the possibility of a 5th yet to come in Juniors. Majors had to face their buddies twice, and the elimination result went the way of NOLL. SOLL Majors was undefeated by all other D4 opponents! NOLL and SOLL Juniors both win - NOLL advancing to the elimination bracket final and SOLL advancing to the championship round. Should NOLL win Monday, it will set up a championship round vs SOLL. Last, but by no means least, Seniors swept their championship round, eliminating a game Pittsburg team to advance to Sectionals! (somebody email us a picture already!)

Dateline 7/11 NOLL Juniors' run finally came to an end tonight with another close loss at the hands of Albany, who must now rematch with SOLL in the championship round. NOLL Majors extended their season another game with a win over Lafayette. NOLL 9-10s lost the first game of the championship round, but had a loss to give, and will play Antioch2 again in a true winner takes all game Tue!

Dateline 7/12 Three games, three wins and two Championships! NOLL Majors clinched a berth in the Championship round vs Alameda with a win tonight over Albany. SOLL Juniors jumped out to a big lead vs Albany and then hung on to win 10-6. Congrats and good luck in Sectionals (starting 7/16 in Benicia)! NOLL 9-10s bounced back from their first loss to eliminate Antioch2 and take the 9-10 banner! Congrats and good luck in Sectionals (starting 7/16 in Larkspur)!

Dateline 7/13 The last Oakland team bowed out, with District 4 runnerup NOLL Majors losing in the championship game to a very strong Alameda squad.
