2007 DIVISION 2 ALLSTARS
The magical ride is over for our Section-1 Champion, District-4 Champion SOLL Juniors. They faced two very talented teams at the Division-II tournament hosted by District 8's Sunrise LL.
This was a special team, and we hope you were able to see them in action in Clayton Valley, Oakland, Vacaville or Stockton as they played not just a high caliber brand of baseball, but with respect for their opponents and passion for one another. Congrats SOLL Jrs!
District 4 and Section 1 Juniors Champion SOLL advances to Divisional play in Stockton.
Division II comprises the final 6 teams in Northern California battling it out.
7/23/07 - SOLL took an early 2-0 lead on Jack Humphrey's home run in the bottom of the first, but despite giving up just 7 hits and making only 1 error, SOLL couldn't stop the Half Moon Bay take-a-thon.
7/21/07 - SOLL enters uncharted territory as they move to the elimination bracket for the first time in their 2007 run. They packed their bats, but not their gloves for the trip to beautiful Klein Family Field in Stockton and Lincoln Glen of San Jose put 13 runs on the jumbotron by strategically pounding out a big hit after every SOLL miscue.
South Juniors (8-3, 3-1, 0-2) at Univ of Pacific ...7/21 lost to D12, S5 Lincoln Glen 7-13 ...7/23 eliminated by D52, S3 Half Moon Bay 6-18
2007 SECTION 1 ALLSTARS District 4 Juniors Champion SOLL moves on to Sectional play in Vacaville.
7/19/07 - SOLL bounced back to beat a great Vacaville Central team 5-2 and take the Section 1 banner. VCLL, led by Taylor McAbee, Connor Wirtz and coach Felix Guevara pushed SOLL every inning for two days on offense and on defense. In the end, Jack Humphrey's complete game gem and defensive plays by a host of players (7-6-2 on one and 1-5-2-6-5 on another) put SOLL over the top.
Following AlbanyLL in 2006 and NOLL in 2005, this is the 3rd consecutive year a D4 team has won the Juniors Section 1 banner!
7/18/07 - Vacaville Central showed that they belong in the Championship, as they rallied from down 2 in the bottom of the 7th for a 5-4 victory. The game was well-played by both sides and bodes well for a phenomenal winner-takes-all Sectional Championship Game on 7/19.
7/16/07 - The SOLL Juniors battled from behind to score a 7-4 victory over a great Benicia team on a windy day in Vacaville. SOLL was down 4-2 going into the 6th, but there's no quit on this team. SOLL advances to the Championship (opponent TBD) on Wed 7/18, and if necessary again on 7/19.
7/14/07 - The SOLL Juniors rode a strong pitching performance by Eric Robles to an 11-1 victory over Healdsburg LL. Next up for SOLL is the winner of Sunday's VacavilleCentral/Benicia matchup.
S-1 CHAMPION South Juniors (8-1, 3-1) ...7/14 beat D35 Healdsburg 11-1 ...7/16 beat D53 Benicia 7-4 ...CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES: ...7/18 lost to D64 Vacaville Central 4-5 ...7/19 eliminated D64 Vacaville Central 5-2
2007 DISTRICT 4 ALLSTARS 7/16/07 - South Oakland Majors were finally eliminated this evening by a strong Alameda squad - the only team to beat SOLL in the District tournament. Congrats to both squads, and here's hoping Alameda goes to Williamsport!
7/14/07 - The South Oakland Majors advanced out of the elimination bracket to earn a spot in the Championship round. SOLL (5-1) will need to beat an undefeated Alameda (3-0) twice to take the title. SOLL's only loss of the tournament came at the hands of Alameda, by a score of 7-4. First game is Mon 7/16, and if necessary, they play again Tue 7/17. Both games take place in AntiochEast at 6pm. Last year, NOLL beat Albany to earn the Little League D-4 banner.
7/11/07 - The South Oakland Juniors beat a gritty Albany team 10-4 to take the District 4 banner with an undefeated 5-0 record. NOLL and SOLL have won 5 of the past 6 Juniors titles including 3 years in which they faced each other in the championship game.

Combined Oakland AllStar District Teams: (17-14)
The NOLL/SOLL teams earned two berths in District Championships. More importantly, all eight teams learned, had fun, and won and lost with class and honor .... Congrats to all our AllStars, their parents and their coaches .... Let's build on these results in 2008!
