2006 ALLSTARS
NOLL MAJORS: DISTRICT 4 CHAMPS
NOLL Majors takes the District 4 Banner!

7/17/06 - For the first time since 1992, and just the second time in our 25 year history, a NOLL/SOLL Majors team advances to Sectionals. NOLL raced out to an 11-2 lead, in the bottom of the 4th inning and then hung on as Albany scored 8 runs in their final two innings to close the gap to 11-10. With the game tying runner in scoring position, NOLL induced a grounder to short for the banner-clinching out! NOLL finishes the District tournament undefeated at 5-0.

Dreaming of Williamsport, NOLL advanced to the Section 1 Tournament before falling twice to Vacaville National. The Sectional was hosted by District 35 and played at Petaluma American LL's Lucchesi Park..

2006 SECTIONALS
SECTION 1
North Majors (6-2 1-2)
...7/20 lost to D-64 Vacaville National 1-6
...7/21 eliminated D-53 Fairfield Pacific 7-5
...7/22 eliminated by D-64 Vacaville National 6-11

7/22/06 - The NOLL Majors run ended this afternoon with a second loss to Vacaville National. After over a month of practices and games, 16 kids, a half-dozen coaches and countless parents and fans wouldn't have done it any other way! This team played hard, played clean and had a lot of fun. Thanks to Bob Rollins and his staff for such a memorable season!

7/21/06 - NOLL Majors wins their first elimination game of 2006, edging a good Fairfield Pacific team 7-5. With the win, they earn a rematch against Vacaville National, who lost to Petaluma Valley earlier today.

7/20/06 - NOLL Majors opens Section 1 with a 7-1 loss to Vacaville National. NOLL put together several 2-out rallies, but couldn't find the big hit to close the gap. They play their first elimination game of the season Fri 7/21 at 530pm in Petaluma - come and watch!

DISTRICT 4
7/17/06 - With the NOLL Majors Banner, the teams combine for a 25-16 (.610) record, 1 championship and 2 runnerups. The NOLL/SOLL record is even better at 23-14 (.622) against outside competition, with NOLL besting SOLL twice in the Juniors tournament. 7 of the 9 teams won at least one game and 3 made it to championship games. One of our runnerups (NOLL Juniors) lost their district championship to an Albany team who ended up rallying to the Sectional Banner and advancing to the Divisional Tournament.

Most importantly, the coaches displayed good sportsmanship, the parents had a blast driving carloads of kids to the furthest reaches of District 4, and all the NOLL/SOLL AllStars had a great time on the field and in the pizza parlors!
